Red Shift Cybersecurity LLC provides senior-level security and systems engineering to businesses, credit unions, and managed service providers. When specialized expertise is needed and internal teams are already at capacity, we deliver defined technical work with clear accountability at every stage.

Our work combines security with hands-on engineering across penetration testing, incident response, Microsoft 365, cloud infrastructure, and AI integration. Every engagement is built to leave behind an environment that is secure, well documented, and fully supportable by your team. Founded by Michael Cumberland, a senior engineer with more than 27 years of experience across Microsoft, VMware, AWS, and cybersecurity, including incident response leadership and penetration testing for regulated financial institutions.

How we work with your team

01

We support your team, not compete with it

Communication channels, client-facing roles, and escalation paths are agreed at the outset. We work within your existing delivery model and processes, under your brand when you prefer.

02

Clear technical ownership

We define who designs, approves, implements, and validates each part of the work, and raise dependencies and trade-offs early so nothing falls through the cracks.

03

Documentation your engineers can use

Architecture, configuration decisions, test results, and operational notes are captured in a form your team can work from, not just a record that a task was completed.

04

Handoffs built for ongoing support

The transition is planned before the work ends. We review what changed, how it was tested, what action items remain open, and who owns the environment going forward.

From project delivery to operations

The handoff is part of the work.

Agree on the documentation and transition scope before execution. Depending on the project, that can include:

  • Configuration and architecture notes, including key decisions and dependencies
  • Validation evidence and agreed acceptance criteria
  • Recovery considerations and operational guidance
  • Open issues, known limitations, and follow-up owners

Deliverables are defined for each engagement; the scope should be as clear at the finish as it was at the start.

Bring the environment, the constraints, and the outcome you need. We’ll discuss where Red Shift can complement your team.
